What you should know about Bayview Hotel
We are conveniently situated on the Garden Route in beautiful Plettenberg Bay’s Main street. The Bayview Hotel is privately owned and managed by an efficient and friendly team. It is situated in the heart of the village and is a mere stroll to the beach. The Bayview is well known for its convenient business and conference facilities, and it is equipped with all the necessary amenities needed to ensure the success of your function. Banking facilities, boutiques, art galleries and shopping malls are in walking distance from the hotel. The Bayview Hotel was established in 1993, after a gap in Plettenberg Bay’s accommodation market was identified by Cecil Lewis and a group of co-investors. By personally project managing the development, Mr. Lewis ensured that the building was constructed according to the highest building specifications, which can still be clearly evidenced today. For the last almost 20 years, by offering a more affordable alternative to the timeshare and five star offerings, but allowing for greater convenience and service than self-catering accommodation, the 3 Star Graded Bayview Hotel is perfectly positioned (literally and figuratively!) This romantic, cozy family-run bistro, tucked away in The Bayview hotel, in the heart of the Garden Route, is a favourite haunt of both locals and visitors alike. An eco adventure company situated in the heart of the majestic Tsitsikamma Forest region. Close and personal encounters with the majestic whales in the bay. Interaction with our dolphin species and the opportunity to experience the many other wonders of the bay: pelagic birds, seals, sharks, history, geology and lots more. Experience an intimate meeting with these intelligent, gentle giants in their free-range controlled environment. Riding and overnighting with the elephants is also available. Venture past the Knysna Heads to explore the picturesque Indian Ocean coastline, rich with birdlife, whales, dolphins and other marine life. Chase down the sunset with gourmet seafood fare and a chilled glass of bubbly. All cruises are fully guided, personal and interactive. Come and jump off the world’s highest (commercial) bungy bridge. Monkeyland is the world’s first free-roaming, multi-species primate sanctuary. Its aims are to provide ex-captive primates with a healthier, more natural life and to raise public awareness about primates. Around 400 monkeys and lemurs live at Monkeyland, including gibbons, capuchin monkeys, squirrel monkeys, spider monkeys, miniature monkeys, vervets, spectacled langurs and three species of lemur. Birds of Eden is the largest free-flight aviary in the world. Visitors are welcome to explore at their own pace, with the use of Birds of Eden’s specialised guidebook. Plettenberg Bay Game Reserve is the biggest game reserve in the Southern Cape, with more than 2200 ha spread out across the hills above the scenic Garden Route coastline. Guests are taken on a guided tour to meet captive-bred furry felines, living in a semi-natural environment.
