Vision A socially and environmentally conscious society in which peopled fulfill their creative potential and live in great harmony with each other and the natural environment. Instil positive change of attitudes and behaviour towards the environment, society and self through interactive educational and developmental theatre experiences. Raise awareness, interest and develop knowledge of environmental and social issues through interactive theatrical experiences. Promote the use of drama as a highly effective educational and developmental tool. Identify, nurture and promote talent and provide emerging artists with opportunities to grow both personally and professionally. Increase support and appreciation for the performing arts and in particular, Lunchbox Theatre, as a valuable community asset. Lunchbox Theatre is a diverse, dynamic and creative team working together to achieve our vision of having theatre projects as primary awareness raising tools for important issues that are relevant to South Africa’s youth. Our favourite project the After School Activities Program (ASAP) is under threat. 150 kids might lose their chance to continue with classes in 2017 if we do not raise funds to cover the costs of the classes. Engaging, interactive, entertaining and informative shows that raise awareness around relevant environmental and social issues. Audiences can identify with our interesting and localized characters. Mime and physical theatre stimulates the audience’s imagination. Props, set and costumes are aesthetically pleasing, practical and resourceful and made of recyclable materials. Our story starts in the year 2060 and we have just found the last drop of fresh water. This show takes a look at domestic animal welfare and primary health care through the relationship between humans and their domestic animals. The show targets locals with reminders of what is so great about our town. This show about waste management and recycling addresses difficult, everyday questions of sustainability.
