La Carla Masks Atelier consists of an artistic family team who started this exciting venture after falling in love with romantic Venice. While roaming its alleys for gifts, Carla discovered a mask shop and was blown away by their beauty. The irresistible love began for these exceptional masks. Back in South Africa, Carla started this venture along with her daughter Charnelle, who where both eager to switch on their inspiration. Since 2007 we have custom designed over 18000 unique masks, which are couriered all over the world. Now we live and work on the Garden Route near Plettenberg Bay where our mask studio is open to visitors. What can be better than having a chocolate fondue under our BIG tree while gazing over the Outeniqua mountains in the distance? We have exiting future plans, from supplying some of the biggest cruise liners with masks to working with the Trinidad Carnival organizers. We are on our way with our masks already displayed on the residential cruise ship The World. Our hand crafted Venetian masks are used for flamboyant balls, carnival events, theme parties, corporate events and functions but are also employed as pieces of art for interior decorating. We are committed to creating quality custom designed masks and showcasing them to the world.
