The Heath, one of the Garden Routes favourite and most loved venues, found just 6km outside of Plettenberg Bay in the Western Cape of South Africa, offers an incredible experience for everyone. Asian food is not as big in SA as it is in many other foreign countries, and especially not in Plett, so these journeys through the amazing world of Asian food is most of the time done within the comfort of my own home, giving me the chance to experiment, perfect, and pretty much make sure every little detail is taken care of maximised to the best of my ability the incredible flavours and ingredients that make up this style of cuisine. Fry the Paste in some oil (Coconut if you have) Add the Stock, let cook for a few minutes, then add all the ingredients and cook for a further 10 minutes until all the flavours have infused. Now as you probably know we are not gifted with loads of buildings and open space to just erect a new structure, so we have converted half of what was the old craft shop into this fantastic new space. Its been a slow process but an exciting, one with a whole lot of stress thrown in but ultimately we have made it, and its time we make this happen! Well as the name may suggest its all about the experience of Taste, and hopefully of something you don’t get to to taste every day! You will be able to taste various examples and either sit and enjoy it on site or buy to take with you. The idea behind the diet is that back in the day human kind only had LCHF options, and used fat as a source of energy. This of course makes sense when not combined with the many processed and hi carb foods produced today. normal human who likes his freshly baked bread and uses a good old pasta carbo load before the big race then in my eyes stick with it. And best of all its incredibly easy (except for the secrets that go into a good jam of course! ) You can buy these jams and preserves in our Deli if need be, much easier! This is baked for roughly 7 minutes in the oven until soft to touch, so that when you cut it, the cheese just ooozes out. ! At the moment Green figs are out of season so these bad boys have been preserved and saved for the winter months, they are soft, small, full of flavour, and look fantastic on the plate. The sweetnes of the fruit and its preserved juices goes amazingly with the rich tangy flavour of the Cheese. Our Italian bread is baked daily using stone ground flour, is slightly denser than normal bread, but goes perfectly as a dunking cheese slice!
