Located deep in the unspoiled heart of South Africa's famous Garden Route, surrounded by the indigenous forests, pristine beaches and mountains of the Tsitsikamma National Park, is the unique and magical place we share with others and which we call Home. A family-run experience in Green Living and Alternative travel, Wild Spirit caters for conscious explorers and open-minded travellers who are seeking something slightly different and off the regular tourist track. Wild Spirit is a spectacular setting to use as a base from which to explore the many local attractions, or as a peaceful place to just relax and unwind with the wind in your hair and feet on the earth. We offer a range of simple but comfortable accommodation options including en-suite double, twin and family rooms, bunk-free dorms, safari tents and camping sites, all with convenient access to bathrooms, the self-catering kitchen and the various other communal spaces on the farm. Wild Spirit is ideally situated close to the exquisite beaches, rivers and lagoon of Nature's Valley, where the world-renowned five day Otter Trail ends, and the mountainous Tsitsikamma Hiking Trail begins. Famously displaying some of the most scenic mountains and stretches of fynbos, indigenous rainforest and coastline in all of Southern Africa, Tsitsikamma National Park also offers many excellent day hikes and nature trails of varying lengths and difficulty. Southern Right and Humpback whales are regularly seen here in the winter months and dolphins can be spotted all year round. As a business we are constantly exploring ways in which to lower our carbon footprint in order to provide a space for travellers to enjoy their creature comforts in a low-impact earth-friendly manner. We recycle all our trash, use natural cleaning products to support our grey-water systems, and source our food from local, ethical business enterprises wherever possible. Utilising the principles of permaculture and natural building and farming methods, we are slowly moving towards a vision of being a 'model' farm for self-sustainable country living. An integral part of this initiative is our volunteer energy-exchange programme, which we offer to travellers who have some spare time on their hands and are keen to learn the ropes of conscious-tourism and the ins and outs of farm living.
